At Green Roots Landscaping, our Turf Care Program is an intensive treatment protocol personalized for each yard throughout the entire season. It includes six rounds of applications.
- Round 1: Balanced fertilizer with split application of granular crabgrass pre-emergent control and spray for visible broadleaf weeds.
- Round 2: Balanced fertilizer with second split application, pre-emergent crabgrass granular, and spray for visible broadleaf weeds.
- Round 3: Granular fertilizer with Grub Control preventive, along with spot spray for visible broadleaf weeds.
- Round 4: Summer check-up with spot spray for visible broadleaf weeds (no full application due to heat).
- Round 5: Balanced granular fertilizer to improve turf quality, often accompanied by aeration/overseeding if selected, to help recover stressed grass from summer heat.
- Round 6: Balanced granular fertilizer providing nutrients for winter root growth, darker winter color, and enhanced spring green-up.
*NOTE Grassy weeds, invasive turf types, nutsedge and turf diseases are not controlled under the regular turf care program. These can be treated at an additional cost upon request.
Nutsedge has become an issue in almost every yard this past season. Nutsedge is a perennial plant that increases in numbers every year. A single Nutsedge plant has the ability to produce several hundred tubers, or nutlets, every year. These tubers remain viable for 3 years or more in the soil. We will be offering nutsedge treatments in Spring for an extra fee, upon request.

Q: Do I need to be present during the service?
A: No worries if you're not home! We'll leave a sign in your yard to let you know the job has been completed.
Q: When can my family and pets return to the yard?
A: We recommend allowing the product to dry for at least an hour before resuming normal activity in the yard.
Q: When is the best time to mow my grass?
A: For best results, wait at least 24 to 48 hours after an application before mowing. Leaving grass clippings can help replenish nutrients in your lawn.
Q: When should I water my lawn?
A: It's best to water your lawn in the mornings, as this gives your grass ample time to absorb the moisture.
Q: Are the products safe for my family and pets?
A: Absolutely! We work closely with the local Department of Agriculture to ensure the safety of our products. Our treatments are even safer than some everyday household products.
Q: How long until the weeds disappear?
A: Typically, you'll start to see results within 10 to 14 days after treatment.
Q: When will I see noticeable improvements in my lawn?
A: The timeline for noticeable improvements varies depending on factors such as the current health of your lawn and its location. With the help of our professional soil testing and our comprehensive full season Turf Care program you will notice a marked difference in your lawn in your first year. Many clients will notice a significant improvement through 2-3 years of our program.
Q: How will I be invoiced?
A: We offer a convenient and affordable monthly billing program where the total cost of your service is spread out over the entire calendar year. If you sign up before January, payments will be spread over 12 months, and if you sign up in April, payments will be spread over 9 months, and so forth.
